Welcome to Career Online High School at San Francisco Public Library!
SFPL offers a scholarship program for Career Online High School (COHS). From this Online Instruction Center, you can:
- Browse the career courses available
- Enroll for Part 1: the COHS prerequisite career course
- Enroll in Part 2: the full COHS program
- Log-in as a student and access your classroom
Here’s how it works:
Step 1 – Your online self-assessment indicates that you meet the basic requirements for the program and are ready to enroll in the two-week long prerequisite career course.
Step 2 – Browse the catalog and choose your career focus e.g. Part 1 – Certified Protection Officer. Use your San Francisco Public Library card to enroll in the course of your choice. This is a two-week long prerequisite course. Note: it is important that you complete the prerequisite coursework in two weeks or less.
Step 3 – If you successfully complete the two-week long prerequisite course with a 70% or higher and with two weeks or less, your library will contact you within one week to schedule an interview at the library to discuss your application for a scholarship award.
Step 4 – Upon completion of your interview, your library will contact you within one week about the scholarship award. If accepted, an Academic Coach will make contact within 24 hours of enrollment.
If accepted into the program, you will enroll in Part 2 of this career area e.g. Part 2 - Certified Protection Officer (Prerequisite required). This course is a continuation of the career area you selected for your prerequisite course. You will gain entry into your online classroom within 72 hours.
